It’s not just the now infamous Horse Whisperer that makes it worth reading the Ferrari Formula 1 website. Take this headline from today:

“Japanese GP – A good luck wish from Montezemolo via the ether”

No, it’s not Ferrari’s idiosyncratic way of passing on sad news about Luca di Montezemolo – he’s fine. But the story explains how the Ferrari president was able to communicate with his drivers from afar:

“He couldn’t do it in person but technology came to his help courtesy of the telephone.”

That’s Ferrari’s idea of remarkable technology, worth telling everyone about on their website: the telephone. If Montezemolo was coming out of the “ether”, at least it sounds like they’ve got a speakerphone – which is a slightly more modern advance on the 19th century invention of the telephone.

Fernando Alonso will be hoping that any car updates Ferrari are bringing for the Japanese Grand Prix aren’t 130 years old.
