Another quick bite from the Motor Sport Business Forum in Monaco: the session with James Allen talking to Lotus team owner Tony Fernandes, of which autosport.com has a transcript.

Asked where he wants the team to be next year:

“For me – make sure I’m ahead of Richard Branson. I used to work for him, we partnered together in an airline. So I’d like to see him behind me, that would be nice, not physically…”

It seems like Fernandes could be a good addition to the paddock. He’s got plenty of ideas – about the business and the sport of Formula 1, about sponsorship, and about opening it all up online.

Plus he appears to have a personality, which is always a bonus.
