Following today’s Shakedown, it’s looking like it could be a very interesting Cyprus Rally for the WRC.

There’s been heavy rain, leaving mud on some stages, and though it’s dry now, more rain is forecast – so really there could be anything out there when they hit the stages in anger.

The conditions are expected to be challenging to say the least, with Sebastien Loeb expecting the rally to be “probably the toughest of the year”.

But quote of the day goes to Super 1600 driver Martin Prokop:

“It is not easy to get to the finish. This rally is not for my car. The best option is to stay in the hotel and go to the finish on Sunday!”

Bless.

Shakedown times are interesting in themselves too: Dani Sordo top, followed by Petter Solberg with a new engine in his Citroen Xsara.
