“You’ve got to pass someone, you can’t just ram into the side of them. I know I screwed up in the same way with Alex [Wurz] last year, but I took full responsibility for it, and I would expect Felipe [Massa] to do the same. If he doesn’t, then I’m gonna kick three colours of shit out the little bastard.”
David Coulthard talking to Louise Goodman about Felipe Massa live on ITV1 in the - fortunately - very early hours of this morning, there. The Scottish accent is excellent for sounding threatening, and DC made good use of it.
Martin Brundle’s assessment of the incident was that it probably wasn’t Massa’s fault. But that only makes it better: there’s nothing more enjoyable than misplaced indignation.
How is it going to be dealt with for the rerun on ITV1 this afternoon? It remains to be heard. Keep an ear out with 30/58 on the lap counter.
UPDATE. They just cut out the last bit of the interview, and James Allen’s apology in the commentary. Bit of a shame that it wasn’t even acknowledged, but it was probably the easiest thing for the production company to do.

I’ll pay good money for a ringside seat…
